STANDARD LEAD TIMES & ORDERING PROCESS:

Larger Orders (More than 50sqm of Doors/Windows)
Approximately 4–5 months from shop drawing approval to site delivery. Please note that while our standard lead time is typically 3–4 months, this extension applies to all orders signed off between October 1st and February 28th.

Smaller Orders (Less than 50sqm of Doors/Windows)
Approximately 5–6 months from shop drawing approval to site delivery. Please note that while our standard lead time is typically 4–5 months, this extension applies to all orders signed off between October 1st and February 28th.

• Lead time to receive a Free Quote: 3-7 days from the date all information/quote form/plans are received (Dependant on the size of the order)
• Lead time to receive Draft Shop Drawings: 2-7 days from the date order payment is received (Dependant on the size of the order)
• Lead time to finalise Shop Drawings and Formal Sign Off: 1-3 weeks (Dependant on the size of the order)
• Lead time from Formal Sign Off to Production Completion: 12-16 weeks after Formal Sign Off Date (Dependant on door/window type and order size)
• Lead time to Ship Order from Overseas Factory to Australia: 3-4 weeks after Production Completion
• Lead time from Arrival into Port to Delivery to Site: 2-3 weeks after Arrival

The above lead times are estimates only based on current order volume and shipping time frames. Your order may come in sooner than the above quoted timeframes.

  3mm Iron Sheet on either side of the panel, 44mm Polyurethane Core
• Steel Doors:
• FPS50 Slimline Cold Rolled Galvanised Tube Steel Profile
• W40, W20 (Ottostumm) Hot Rolled Galvanised Solid Swiss Steel Profile
• Shot blasting by emery to be Grade SA2.5-3;
  Bridge Anticorrosion grade achieved by painting layers of (70%) Zinc-rich Epoxy, Epoxy Mica Iron and Epoxy sealer
  The Maximum outdoor weatherproof level achieved by Fluorine Carbon Paint (famous Japanese brand DAKING) which are widely used on boat and bridge.
  180mm total painting thickness realize C5M-very high corrosivity (marine). We can do thicker if needed.
  The loss of light in ten years is not more than 15%.

No we have not undergone BAL testing for our Iron Entry Doors or Steel Frame Glass Doors and Windows, but they are manufactured from non-combustible 3mm iron sheeting, iron/steel tube for the jamb. We also have a solid hot rolled swiss steel profile which is fully non-combustible. Check with your building surveyor or certifier as the Iron Entry Doors and our P Tube Steel Frame Glass Doors do have polyurethane within the core which would be considered flammable (this can be removed by request to make the doors fully non-combustible).

Zen Doors & Windows was founded in 2018, but our manufacturing facility has been manufacturing different types of wrought iron, steel frame glass hinge, pivot, sliding, bifold doors and windows for over 20 years.

Zen Doors & Windows are designed in Melbourne, Australia and manufactured in China. Our W20 and W40 Ottostumm Steel Profiles are sourced from Europe (Switzerland and Italy) and FPS50 Slimline Tube Steel Profile is from China.

Our doors are all custom made by hand and undergo numerous quality checks and tests, we construct and hang every door prior to shipping to test hardware, mechanisms and sizes. All iron doors, steel doors and windows are video recorded during the production testing phase. All iron and steel glass doors and windows are securely packed and sealed in large wooden crates with steel frames and imported Worldwide in large shipping containers.

At Zen Doors & Windows quality control is paramount, so each door must pass our rigorous quality assurance tests and checks prior to packing and shipment.

We have recommended installers in Melbourne and Sydney who can install your iron doors, steel doors and steel windows. They can also conduct site check measures for a fee and provide an installation estimate once they have seen the site conditions.

All our doors come pre glazed with either single 5/6/8/10mm toughened safety glass or double 5mm + 12a (Argon) + 5mm safety glass and is in accordance with Australian Glazing Standards. We can also ship doors and windows unglazed for glazing on site for special circumstances such as extra large fixed windows, curved windows and butt join windows.

As each installation will have different requirements and quality and safety is paramount, we recommend using one of our recommended installers or a Registered Builder or Carpenter to install your Zen Door or Window. Your door/window will come with all the necessary hardware to install your door into our supplied door frames.

For Iron Doors there are two methods for installation, iron mounting tabs welded on the side of the iron door jamb or pre drilled mounting holes on the inside of the jamb. Please talk to your builder or installer which method will be best for your circumstances on site. Mounting Holes are preferable for finished openings, while Mounting Tabs are preferable for openings that have access to structural framing.

Your builder or carpenter will ensure proper installation of the jamb and hanging of the door. As both iron and steel glass doors are quite heavy, multiple people will be needed for installation.

All of our doors and windows are pre hung and tested in the factory multiple times throughout production, so it is paramount that during installation the necessary adjustments are made so everything lines up correctly on site.

Yes we advise you have your builder or carpenter handle the installation. We recommend also going over the shop drawings we provide with your builder or carpenter to understand the requirements prior to delivery. We do not recommend person’s who are unqualified to install your doors and windows. Zen will not be held responsible for any damage, injury or death due to incorrect installation of our products.

We have multiple colour finishes available please see our colour finishes here. We can also match any colour from the RAL, Dulux, Akzo Nobel, PPG colour palettes for a fee.

Once you have made payment we create a detailed CAD shop drawing of your door/s according to the plans or dimensions you provide us. This shop drawing will need to be reviewed and signed off by you or your builder/carpenter/installer prior to us constructing the door. Depending on the size of your order, you can expect to receive the draft shop drawing/s within 5 business days of making payment.

All Zen Doors & Windows ordered from 1 June 2023 come with our standard *5 year manufacturers warranty. More information can be found on our Warranty page and Refund Policy page.

Orders before this date have a *2 year manufacturers warranty.
